There’s nothing wrong with a professionally filmed, crisp and narrated piece of footage of an event like this, but sometimes I just prefer something I very well could’ve pulled out my camera and taken myself. This is a controlled avalanche in British Columbia that happened on January 10th of this year. According to the description, these avalanches are caused in order to prevent a more dangerous one from happening later on. You really get an idea of the power and weight of all that snow just watching it slowly devour the ground like that. Pretty breathtaking and completely frightening at the same time.
