Domino physics: from tiny to huge

Dominoes are always fun, but they’re usually not done like this. When you think of dominoes, it’s usually a huge line of dominoes of the same size. You may have also seen some videos where someone starts out with small objects lined up, and the sets of objects get eventually bigger. Well this guy is taking that second example to it’s scientific extreme by starting out with an extremely tiny domino and having the next one be the largest that can get knocked over by the first, if that makes any sense (it might help to just watch the video). When you see the one he starts with and the one he ends with, you would never think it would be knocked over in so few steps.

He explains that in just a few more steps, the largest block will be as tall as the Empire State Building. I can’t wait until we get a video of that example in 20 years. Can you imagine a domino the size of the Empire State building in the middle of the desert? I can’t imagine they would be able to do it anywhere else. I can dream.
